iPhone OS Feature Request – Speakerphone vs. proximity sensor

Avagy levél az Apple-nek

Gondoltam, bepróbálkozom, hiszen vesztenivalóm nincs. Az ötlet nem az enyém, hiszen bármi 7650-es Nokia már évek óta tudja ezt a funkciót. Így ellátogattam szépen az Apple oldalán a Feedback opcióhoz, kiválasztottam az iPhone-t, és lekörmöltem nekik, mire vágyok 1.1.4 óta.

Angollal problémában levők számára röviden: ha van közelségérzékelő, ami lekapcsolja a kijelzőt, ha a füledhez emeled a telefont, hogy ne nyomkodja össze, akkor ezt a szenzort arra is lehetne használni, hogy kihangosítás esetén a fülhöz emelve lekapcsoljon kihangosításból vissza a normál hangszóróra. Meg tegyenek egy on/off gombot, amivel ki lehet kapcsolni, hátha valakinek nem tetszik az opció.

Hogy aztán mi lesz belőle, na azt nem tudom. De reménykedni azt szabad, hátha feltűnik nekik, és megcsinálják. Elvégre nem nagy cucc, pár sor kód, és kész.

Dear Apple!

I enjoy using my iPhone. But have a feature request, which I would like to share with you. I hope, you could implement it.

You have built a proximity sensor to the iPhones, which turns off the touchscreen, when you hold it to your ears.

But if you use the speakerphone mode, it does nothing of course, as the customer might want to press a button, etc.

The feature I would really enjoy in your product is that when my phone is in speakerphone mode, and then I place it to my ears, I would like to have it to switch automatically back to the earpiece.

And for those customers who might not want this feature, a simple toggle could be placed into the Settings / Phone to enable/disable this feature.

My Nokia 7650 had this feature, and it was years ago, so please implement this feature to the upcoming 3.0 FW, if possible. I guess, many customers will enjoy it too.

I have read the policy about Unsolicited Idea Submission, and as it is an already existing technology in any Nokia 7650, feel free to use it to improve your customer’s experience.

Looking forward to the arrival 3.0 – hopefully with this little feature as a plus. :)

The world through one other’s eyes

I was amazed on this, really

For me it feels a bit strange and shocking, when I saw some youngsters’ talent. What feels strange is that sometimes I really can’t understand, where those thoughts came for them. Where do they get those ideas? How are they capable to show such feelings? And even more: how could they depict these feelings so alive?

I know, I know… I understand people really rarely. But I am up to understand them. To know, what drives them in their deceisions. To see the world through their eyes. To feel what they feel. To understand them. And so knowing myself better and understanding the world and this whole life we have.

I would like to put here two pictures from Lual, a ukrainian photographer girl, whom I met last summer at Sziget Festival. Enjoy.

With dark background, both of these photos are “tickleing” my eyes, especially the colors on both. I like their composition. Thank God, I am not ColorBlind…
